Texas Campgrounds and RV Parks Offer Last-Minute Holiday and Winter Camping Options

As the holiday season approaches, Texas campgrounds and RV parks offer options for late planners and winter camping enthusiasts. Despite the peak season, several Texas-based facilities still boast availability, offering a range of amenities to cater to diverse camper needs.

Brian Schaeffer, the executive director and CEO of the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO), reveals that numerous campgrounds and RV parks across the state report available spots for the holiday season, extending into January, February, and March.

This announcement, highlighted on TexasCampgrounds.com and TexasGlampingResorts.com, is particularly beneficial for Texas RVers and Winter Texans still in the midst of planning their travels.

Alamo Fiesta RV Resort, located in the German heritage town of Boerne, stands out with its 220-site capacity. This pet-friendly park not only offers mostly pull-through RV sites and rental cabins but also serves as a strategic base for exploring nearby San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country. The park’s amenities, including a playground and exercise equipment, enhance the camping experience.

In Abilene, Aviator RV Park emerges as a haven for short and long-term guests, including military personnel from the neighboring Dyess Air Force Base. Designed with safety and comfort in mind, the park features large, full-hookup, pull-through RV sites, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, a dog park, and a playground.

Fort Amarillo RV Park in Amarillo, often used as a base camp for excursions to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, boasts a variety of amenities. These include a 4,500-square-foot dog park, tennis courts, an indoor heated swimming pool, and Lizzie Mae’s Mercantile, a unique gift store.
