The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) has released its 2026 RV Travel & Camping Guide to Texas, offering RV and camping travelers a comprehensive planning resource that highlights destinations, attractions and more than 400 campgrounds across the state.
The annual guide, now available in both printed and digital formats, is designed to help travelers plan trips throughout Texas, with a focus this year on “Hidden Gems & Lasting Favorites,” according to the association.
The guide is distributed statewide and nationally, reflecting continued demand for print travel resources alongside digital tools.
“We continue to design the guide as a travel planning resource,” Brian Schaeffer, executive director and chief executive officer of TACO, said in a press release. “The guide includes detailed descriptions of great places to camp, information on activities and things to see and do throughout Texas.”
The 2026 guide also includes information from chambers of commerce and convention and visitors bureaus, which Schaeffer said can provide additional details on local attractions, festivals and annual events important to RV and camping enthusiasts.

Sara Van Wyk of the Texas Travel Information Center in Harlingen described the publication as “one of the most sought-after resources for Winter Texans visiting South Texas,” underscoring its popularity among seasonal travelers.
While the directory is available online, the association printed enough copies to reach more than 250,000 readers.
Distribution includes RV shows across Texas, such as the Houston RV Show scheduled for Feb. 11-15, as well as 25 additional RV shows nationwide through Anderson’s Brochure Distribution Service, including events in Tampa, Florida, and Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Schaeffer said Texas Information Centers and points of entry into the state remain key distribution hubs, with TACO member parks, chambers of commerce and visitors bureaus also supplying copies.
He noted that travelers often keep printed guides for repeat use because they include a pull-out Texas travel map, campground locator maps and detailed local information.
The guide highlights attractions across every region of Texas, including Bill’s Backyard Classics in Amarillo; the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and the Museum of the American G.I. in College Station; Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville; the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum in Tyler; the Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center in Austin; the Leonabelle Turner Birding Center in Port Aransas; the National Videogame Museum in Frisco; Quihi Gun Club and Dance Hall; the Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Republic of Texas Presidential Library; and Waco Mammoth National Monument in Waco.
In addition to attraction listings, the guide provides details on more than 400 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts, including amenities, contact information and a Texas Saver Card offering 10% discounts at participating parks.
Designed by AGS Guest Guides, the 2026 RV Travel & Camping Guide to Texas highlights display advertising from major RV resort chains, including Quality RV Resorts, as well as national campground and RV resort networks such as Encore and Thousand Trails, Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, Kampgrounds of America (KOA), and Wilder RV Resorts.
Advertising support for the guide comes from leading Texas-based campgrounds, RV resorts, and dealers, including PPL Motorhomes, the country’s largest RV consignment dealer, and Platinum Cottages, a manufacturer of park model RVs widely used for rentals across campgrounds and RV resorts.
