This year’s annual spring meeting and tradeshow organized by the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) is expected to be its largest in 52 years, featuring nearly 100 vendors and 11 platinum sponsors. Scheduled for April 30 through May 1 at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe, Texas, this event aims to be a milestone in the outdoor hospitality industry.
The proceedings will commence with TACO’s annual awards program on the afternoon of April 30. Immediately following the awards, platinum sponsors will take the stage to introduce their latest offerings in services and technologies. These include advancements in insurance, reservation software, Wi-Fi, park models, cabins, and construction services—all designed to enhance campground and RV park operations.
Transitioning from the presentations, the evening will offer a happy hour where attendees can network while enjoying a selection of beers and wines from Texas. The atmosphere will remain lively as the event moves into a dinner and a silent auction to support TACO’s legal and legislative efforts.
The first day will culminate in a cowboy casino fun night, an engaging setup featuring casino games such as blackjack, craps, Texas hold ’em, and slot machines. An old-fashioned photo booth and tunes from a local DJ will add to the festivities. The night will end on a high note with a $200 gift card awarded as a “High Roller Award” to the attendees with the most casino chips.
On May 1, the tradeshow floor will open for a full day, allowing attendees ample opportunity to explore exhibits and engage with industry leaders. Noteworthy exhibitors include Access Parks, Conestoga Wagon Company, Firefly Reservations, Leavitt Recreation & Hospitality Insurance, Leland’s Cabins, Newbook, Reliable Commercial Construction, Rowley Insurance, RVParkTV.com, TengoInternet, and Utility Supply Group.
In Conroe, Texas, TACO represents over 430 campgrounds, RV parks, and resorts across the state. The association supports its members through education, networking opportunities, and legislative advocacy.
The networking opportunities provided at events like the TACO tradeshow are invaluable for campground owners looking to elevate their service offerings. Engaging with industry leaders and other campground operators can spark ideas for new services or improvements. By observing and interacting with the broader industry community, campground operators can adopt best practices and innovative approaches for their businesses.
