Skye Texas Hill Country Resort, a new addition to the Texas Hill Country, is opening in Texas next week with a few vacancies for the upcoming eclipse, and a professor who will come to the park will provide astronomy talks for the event.
“We expect to fill up our RV sites, cabins, and pods rather quickly once people find out we’re open. Here, you experience the eclipse unimpeded in the most natural setting,” Adam Evans, the resort’s general manager, said in a press release.
According to the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, Skye Texas Hill Country Resort is the only resort in the greater Fredericksburg area with vacancies for the upcoming eclipse, making it a destination for astronomy enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Located 15 miles north of Fredericksburg, this resort combines the tranquility of nature with modern amenities, allowing guests easy access to the town’s culinary, vinicultural, and outdoor recreation experiences. It showcases gigabit-speed internet service and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, ensuring guests remain connected and sustainable during their stay.
“Guests can go horseback riding nearby, take a tour of a bison ranch, or book rock climbing adventures nearby. We even have a professor who will come to the park to provide private astronomy talks,” Evans added.
Accommodations include fully furnished cabins and nature pods equipped with kitchenettes and full bathrooms, offering a blend of rustic charm and convenience. Spanning 250 acres of pastures, woods, and vineyards, the resort offers guests the opportunity to encounter local wildlife.
“This is a place where you can see deer and other wildlife in the morning and hear the calls of dozens of species of birds flying overhead or resting in the shade of our beautiful oak trees,” Evans said.
Recreational facilities at Skye Texas Hill Country Resort are designed to enhance the guest experience. Two swimming pools, including a spa pool, lighted pickleball courts, and regular yoga classes, provide a variety of activities for relaxation and fitness. To enhance the guest experience further, the resort has arranged for private chefs to prepare meals at guests’ campsites upon request. Additional amenities include pickleball, bocce ball, and shuffleboard courts, as well as stylish bathhouse facilities, dubbed “Soak Hauses.”
