Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Tyler, Texas, located east of Dallas, has completed its two-year expansion. The campground is now fully open for the summer season.
The expansion’s highlight is the 40,000-square-foot water park, featuring Texas’ only heated water playground. This addition includes waterslides, water blasters, water cannons, and a 750-gallon hydrostorm dump bucket.
The water attractions are designed to appeal to both children and adults. Guest Candace D. mentioned that the kids enjoyed the water park and appreciated being able to relax on a lounge chair while watching them have fun.
General Manager Kyle Mohler said the park is committed to providing staycations for families. “Staycations are on the rise, and we’re happy to provide an easier vacation alternative for locals,” Mohler said.
The expansion includes new accommodation options such as a group lodge, cabins, and RV sites. Additionally, the water attractions feature an activity pool, two fishing ponds, and spa tubs.
In addition to the water park and accommodations, the campground has added new facilities. Visitors can enjoy an on-site dining restaurant, a dog park, a playground, an activity pavilion, a camp store, a gem mining sluice, gellyball, a silent disco, and a laundry room. Other amenities include mini-golf, jumping pillows, playgrounds, a maze, gem mining, and laser tag.
For those who wish to experience the park’s offerings without committing to a full stay, day passes are available. While passes can be bought on-site, advanced purchase is recommended due to limited availability.
