Wiseman RV Park Proposal Approved to Elevate Visitor Experience

The Moore County Metro Council approved a proposal by the South Central Tennessee Tourism Association (SCTTA) to take over the administrative responsibilities of Wiseman RV Park. The decision, made during the council’s March meeting, aims to enhance the operational efficiency and visitor experience.

According to a Moore County News report, Councilmember Robert Bracewell expressed concerns regarding the absence of data to support the anticipated 25% increase in park guests. In response, French acknowledged the current lack of publicity for the park and the reliance on word-of-mouth recommendations. He projected that with strategic marketing and improved visibility, reaching the 25% growth target would be achievable.

Following a detailed presentation and a question-and-answer session, the council unanimously approved the SCTTA’s proposal.

Under the new arrangement, the camping fee at Wiseman RV Park will remain at $40. However, a significant change lies in the allocation of these fees, with $10 from each payment earmarked for marketing efforts and further development of the park.

The SCTTA’s initiative seeks to replace the existing honor system with a structured approach to park management. This includes the establishment of a dedicated website for bookings and the issuance of keys for access, aimed at bolstering security and convenience for guests.

The proposal outlines a comprehensive plan to enhance the park’s appeal. Notable features include a 24/7 online rental program accessible through ExperienceTN.com, WhiskeyTrailhead.com, and a new website specifically designed for park rentals. The initiative also encompasses operations at the TN Whiskey Trailhead and Welcome Center in Lynchburg, with trained staff on hand to assist guests.

To further improve the visitor experience, the SCTTA plans to introduce improved signage and literature about the park, encourage guests to sign up for Metro Emergency Alerts, and distribute local welcoming kits. The proposal also highlighted SCTTA’s plan to leverage grants for initial investments in signage and locks.
