Spacious Skies Campgrounds Gears Up to Welcome Snowbirds for Scenic Fall Getaways

With fall in full swing, snowbirds from Quebec to Ottawa, and Buffalo to Boston, are packing their RVs for their seasonal migration south. This annual journey allows travelers to enjoy the changing autumn landscape while heading to their warm-weather destinations. Many RVers will travel along the Spacious Skies Campgrounds Fall Color Trail, a 2,500-mile route from Maine to Georgia, taking in vibrant fall foliage along the way.

“It’s no secret that fall is my favorite season of the year, with the splendor of fall color combined with a relaxed, unhurried vibe,” said Ali Rasmussen, co-founder of Spacious Skies Campgrounds. “Many of our south-migrating guests tend to linger at the campfires in the evening, and take time to enjoy immersive adventures as they slowly head to their winter destinations.

RVers looking to save on their travels can benefit from the Spacious Skies Loyalty Program, known as Cosmic Campers, which offers a 12% discount on campground stays. This program encourages snowbirds to stop at multiple campgrounds, enhancing their experience while making their journey more economical.

The campgrounds along the route also provide opportunities for immersive experiences. Spacious Skies Adirondack Peaks, located in North Hudson, N.Y., is near Fort Ticonderoga and Lake George, where the surrounding trees transform into shades of red and orange. Just a short drive away, Spacious Skies Woodland Hills in Austerlitz offers proximity to attractions like the Berkshire Botanical Garden and the Norman Rockwell Museum.

For those interested in urban exploration, Spacious Skies Minute Man provides convenient access to Boston, a city rich with historic sites and diverse dining options, located only 33 miles away. This allows RVers to experience the cultural offerings of the city while enjoying the comforts of campground life.

Many of the campgrounds also feature easy access to seasonal festivals. Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views in Luray, Virginia, is near the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival, a celebration scheduled for October 26. Similarly, Spacious Skies Belle Ridge in Monterey, Tennessee, will host the annual Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree on the same day, providing festive options for visitors.

As snowbirds conclude their warm-weather adventures and head back north, they can retrace their route during the spring, experiencing the Spacious Skies Campgrounds Spring Bloom Trail. This path offers opportunities to witness the first blooms of spring, with wildflowers appearing as early as March at Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks, where azaleas, camellias, and dogwoods begin to blossom.

Springtime also brings a variety of festivals for travelers to enjoy. The Savannah Music Festival in late March and the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival, near Spacious Skies Sandy Run in late April, highlight the vibrant local culture, providing entertainment and engagement for returning snowbirds.

According to a press release, Spacious Skies Campgrounds operates RV campgrounds across 15 locations from Maine to Georgia, offering a range of accommodations, including RV sites, tent sites, cabins, and glamping options.
