Last month, SpaceX launched Starlink for RVs, a satellite internet service available to those seeking to connect to the internet on an as-needed basis where coverage is available.
As per a report, SpaceX announced on Thursday that Starlink for RVs had reached more than 30,000 orders within just 16 days.
Starlink for RVs costs $135 per month. The service allows customers to pause and unpause it at any moment, and billing is made in one-month increments.
According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, the service isn’t designed for use in motion, saying it works but “not reliably yet.”
The service is available to try out for 30 days, with a 100% money-back guarantee.
Starlink for RVs requires a hardware fee of $599, a shipping and handling fee of $50, and a monthly service of $135.
The feature comes after Starlink launched the Portability feature, which permits service to be used without a customer’s home address at an additional monthly cost.
Earlier this week, SpaceX announced that it is nearing 500,000 Starlink users across 32 countries, with support for nine languages, and has also helped to deliver 15,000 Starlinks to Ukraine.
According to its website, Starlink for RVs is ideal for customers traveling to locations where connectivity has been unreliable or completely unavailable.
Users can expect high speed, low latency internet in areas marked “Available” and notably slower speeds during hours of peak usage in areas marked as “Waitlist” or during events with many collocated users.
According to the company, version 2.0 of Starlink satellites are in production.
