New RV Park Near I-95 Combines Big Rig Convenience with Natural Serenity

As travelers navigate the bustling I-95 corridor, many seek a convenient yet relaxing stop to recharge. Midpoint I-95 RV Park, located just north of a popular Bucee’s in South Carolina, is positioning itself as a destination by offering more than just a place to park.

With large pull-through sites nestled among native trees, the park is quickly becoming a place for those journeying between Washington, D.C., and Orlando, Florida.

Chris Neely, one of the park’s co-owners, emphasized the property’s balance between convenience and serenity. He described Midpoint as “gorgeous” and highlighted its ideal location, just minutes off I-95 and roughly an hour from Myrtle Beach.

For many travelers, it’s the ideal distance from the interstate to escape the noise while remaining close enough for easy access.

“You will find very large sites with ample room between each site. Once here, you will want to stay for an extended time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and experience all of the amenities in the park,” he told Modern Campground.

Spacious Sites Designed for Big Rig Travelers

The park currently offers 80 spacious sites, with approximately 90% being pull-throughs—a major draw for big rig RV travelers. The layout was designed with ease and comfort in mind, allowing guests to arrive and depart without hassle.

Midpoint I-95 RV Park isn’t a solo venture. Neely partnered with two longtime friends and owners of Big Rig Friendly RV Resort in Columbia, South Carolina, to bring the vision to life. The collaboration was rooted in shared values: top-tier amenities, spacious accommodations, and an appreciation for the natural environment.

The amenities reflect those values. A clubhouse includes a gym, laundry room, and large community space designed to host rallies and group events. A camp store and office are also housed within the clubhouse, adding convenience for guests.

Outdoor features also enhance the park’s appeal to families and nature lovers alike. A stocked fishing pond, nature trail, stream, dog park, and playground offer ways to relax or explore the area. These elements not only cater to short-term visitors but also help build a sense of community among long-term guests.

The surrounding Pee Dee region adds another layer to the experience. Known for its historic roots and hardwood forests, the area offers a quiet charm. Florence, the nearest city, is just a 30-minute drive away, boasting a lively downtown and various dining options for those wanting to explore beyond the park.

Neely pointed to the support of local and state officials as a key factor in the park’s successful development. “The Palmetto State is truly a business-friendly environment,” he said, explaining how county administrators and contractors helped them navigate the building process.

The first phase of construction wrapped up smoothly, thanks to this local cooperation.

Sustainability and Expansion Plan

Environmental stewardship was also a priority in the planning stages. The team focused on blending the park into its existing landscape, preserving as many native trees as possible. This intentional design contributes to the park’s atmosphere, allowing guests to connect with nature without sacrificing comfort.

As outdoor hospitality continues to evolve, recent research by Modern Campground reveals that 52% of campground guests consider sustainable practices when making booking decisions. This trend aligns well with Midpoint I-95 RV Park’s commitment to preserving native trees and integrating eco-friendly design throughout the property.

According to Neely, Midpoint I-95 RV Park has received positive feedback. Neely credited their high Google rating—currently 4.9 stars—to dedicated camp hosts and a welcoming community culture. Long-term guests often help greet new arrivals, adding to the park’s friendly reputation.

Guests can also choose from nightly, weekly, or monthly stays, catering to a range of travel plans.

Looking ahead, the park’s growth is far from over. Phase II is already in motion, which will double the number of available sites to 160. Plans also include expanded access to the scenic stream and a new covered patio area in the grove of hardwood trees behind the park.

To celebrate its progress, the park is planning a grand opening event in early June, with another event timed around the NASCAR Labor Day weekend race at nearby Darlington Motor Speedway.
