CARVC Concludes Conference and Expo in Myrtle Beach

The Carolinas Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CARVC) jumpstarted the new year with a conference and expo in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina last week.

The conference themed “Back to the Future” was charged with education sessions, networking, and fun.

During the week, a wave of industry people from all over South and North Carolina were present. The newly-formed Georgia Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (GARVC) also participated.

Take Away Tours returned this year as CARVC Executive Director Dee Witting and a group of campground owners visited four campgrounds—one of which was under construction. What followed after was wine tasting at one of the campgrounds’ winery.

The conference was abundant with educational opportunities such as the Buyer Workshop hosted by The Campground Connection, which helped address some questions prospective buyers had in mind.

Adding to the valuable learning experience for the attendees were six educational sessions conducted by the industry’s best names. There was also a keynote presentation by John Formica, an influential person in the tourism, hospitality, and service industries. He tackled dealing with challenging guests.

The booths were also active during the Industry Expo, which paved the way for campground owners—and even soon-to-be ones—to connect with suppliers to enhance their campgrounds.

Moreover, new alliances and friendships were made throughout the week as attendees were able to network with campground owners and operators from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Friday was dedicated to holding a silent auction and reception.

The conference wrapped up with an evening reception on Saturday.
