The Shyft Group announced the resignation of chief financial officer Jon Douyard, effective December 31, to pursue a new professional opportunity outside the specialty vehicle industry. Douyard, who has served in the role for nearly five years, will remain with the company through year-end to ensure a smooth transition.
Shyft Group President and CEO John Dunn expressed gratitude for Douyard’s leadership, highlighting his contributions to the company’s financial stability and growth. “As CFO, Jon has instilled financial discipline, maintained a strong balance sheet, and driven growth,” Dunn said.
“On behalf of our employees, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors, I want to thank Jon for his nearly five years of leadership at Shyft,” he added.
Douyard reflected on his tenure, noting the strides made under his leadership, including significant investments in the company’s future. “Together with highly talented employees, we have made meaningful organic and inorganic investments in our future,” he said.
According to a press release, The Shyft Group has begun a search for Douyard’s successor. The search will be conducted in partnership with an independent executive search firm, with internal and external candidates under consideration.
The Shyft Group, based in North America, specializes in manufacturing, assembling, and upfitting specialty vehicles for various markets, including commercial, retail, and service sectors. Its extensive operations employ approximately 3,000 people across multiple locations.
The company’s portfolio includes brands such as Utilimaster, Blue Arc EV Solutions, Royal Truck Body, DuraMag, Magnum, and Spartan RV Chassis. It serves a wide range of customers, including delivery companies, government entities, trades, and utility sectors. In 2023, Shyft reported sales of $872 million.
