The RV Industry Association (RVIA) will host a webinar on November 5 to brief industry professionals on the recent updates to California’s Song-Beverly, commonly referred to as the California Lemon Law.
Scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern Time, the session is designed to help RV manufacturers and related businesses understand their new obligations under the updated legislation. The changes, which will go into effect in two phases in January and April 2025, are expected to streamline the process for addressing consumer complaints.
“During this webinar, we will discuss what has changed in the law, the impact this may have on your business, and what you should know as you prepare for these changes,” RVIA indicated on its website.
RVIA, headquartered near Washington, D.C., with a secondary office in Elkhart, Indiana, represents the interests of the U.S. RV industry, which generates $140 billion annually. The association includes more than 500 member companies encompassing manufacturers, component suppliers, and aftermarket providers who collectively produce 98% of RVs in the U.S. and approximately 60% globally.
RVIA’s scope of work includes initiatives that drive both industry standards and consumer engagement. The association conducts inspections of member manufacturing facilities, ensuring that industry-approved standards are maintained to bolster quality and safety in RV production. Additionally, RVIA actively tracks trends in consumer RV usage, using insights to guide industry practices and connect businesses with emerging market opportunities.
In collaboration with lawmakers and regulators at federal and state levels, RVIA advocates for policies that foster a favorable business environment for RV manufacturers and suppliers. Through the Go RVing consumer campaign, the association works to expand the RV market and enhance the experience for current RV enthusiasts.
RVIA also addresses a key industry need by supporting technician training through the RV Technical Institute.
