The Mike Molino RV Learning Center college scholarship program is accepting applications from candidates within the RV industry. The deadline for applications is July 8. This year marks the 33rd year of the scholarship program.
This scholarship is open to undergraduates currently employed in the RV industry, dependents of RV industry employees, and those seeking careers in the RV sector post-graduation. The $2,500 award will be applied to tuition costs for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Established to support future leaders of the RV industry, the scholarship program is funded by Joanne and Newt Kindlund, co-founders of Holiday RV Superstores, the first publicly traded RV dealership in the United States. Newt Kindlund holds the position of director emeritus on the Learning Center’s board of directors.
According to a press release, RV dealers are encouraged to inform employees about this program. The scholarship’s eligibility criteria include the applicant’s employment in the RV industry or demonstrated interest in an RV industry career after college.
Applicants must meet several requirements, including maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, achieving a minimum SAT score of 1040 or an ACT composite score of 22. They should be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university. Additionally, applicants must submit a 500-word essay outlining their college and career goals, a completed FAFSA form, and a fully completed application with supporting documentation.
The Mike Molino RV Learning Center, a nonprofit organization, provides various educational resources that enhance professional development for RV industry personnel. These resources include targeted publications, certification programs, online learning, and live workshops designed specifically for dealership staff.
In addition to the scholarship, the RV Learning Center offers educational opportunities for industry professionals. The 2024 RV Dealers Convention/Expo will feature nearly 30 Vendor Training +Plus sessions. These one-hour workshops, conducted by industry vendors, cover a range of topics including finance, insurance, marketing, sales, fixed operations, and management, providing dealership professionals with insights into the latest products and services.
RVDA President Phil Ingrassia highlighted the benefits of the sessions. “These popular sessions offer dealers and their employees new ways to succeed in today’s RV market. The 2024 Vendor Training +Plus workshop lineup covers nearly all aspects of dealership operations,” Ingrassia said, as indicated in a Facebook post.
