RV Industry Shipments Decline by More than Half in March 2023

The RV Industry Association’s March 2023 survey of manufacturers has shown a significant decline in RV shipments compared to the previous year.

Total RV shipments in March 2023 ended with only 31,869 units shipped, down by a staggering 50.8% compared to the 64,778 units shipped in March 2022.

So far, RV shipments are down by 54.3%, with only 78,600 units shipped in 2023.

The RV industry has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused significant disruptions to supply chains and manufacturing operations.

With consumers increasingly opting for staycations and outdoor activities, the RV industry has been working hard to produce innovative products that can offer unique outdoor experiences to consumers.

Despite the significant decline in RV shipments in March 2023, RV Industry Association President & CEO Craig Kirby remains optimistic.

As camping season approaches, the RV industry continues to produce innovative products that will open the door for great outdoor experiences,” said Kirby.

As consumers head to RV dealerships across the country this spring and summer, they will find many affordable options across all product types that will help them begin a journey towards a lifetime of memorable RV and camping experiences with friends and family,” Kirby added.

The RV industry is not entirely in decline. Park Model RVs, which offer unique vacation experiences, have seen a notable increase in wholesale shipments.
