The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has announced the appointment of Jason Rano as its new Vice President of Government Affairs, according to a report by Camping Trade World.
Rano brings over 18 years of experience in implementing and creating successful legislative and regulatory initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels in the United States to his new role, where he will manage six staff positions and multiple outside consultants.
“Jason’s proven track record of building bipartisan coalitions and engaging with administration officials, members of Congress, Congressional staff, committees, and key partners and stakeholders make him the ideal leader for the RV industry’s efforts to move policy objectives on Capitol Hill and in state legislatures across the country,” said RVIA President and CEO Craig Kirby.
Rano’s appointment is critical for the RV industry as it continues to experience significant growth. In 2020, the industry saw a record-breaking year, with more people turning to RVs as a safe and convenient way to travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The industry is expected to continue this trend in the coming years, and Rano’s expertise and experience will be crucial in navigating the complex legislative and regulatory landscape.
Rano was previously the Senior Partnership Development Manager at Rivian, where he led efforts to deploy electric vehicle chargers on public lands through partnerships with public land agencies, non-profit organizations, concessioners, utilities, and others.
I’m thrilled to join the talented RV Industry Association team and look forward to working with the accomplished and committed government affairs team on behalf of our members in the halls of Congress and state houses across the country to ensure the industry continues to thrive,” said Rano upon joining RVIA.
The RVIA is the national trade association representing the recreational vehicle industry, and has a membership of over 400 manufacturers, component suppliers, and other businesses involved in the production and sale of RVs.
With Rano at the helm of its government affairs team, the RVIA is well-positioned to advocate for the needs and interests of its members and the industry as a whole.
