PRVCA Announces New Training to Enhance Skills of RV Technicians

Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association (PRVCA) announced the introduction of a new training RV, designed to enhance the skills and expertise of RV technicians. This initiative aims to provide hands-on training opportunities, according to a press release.

“This new RV represents a significant investment in PRVCA members. It will help the association continue its mission and commitment to provide valuable education and training programs,” Heather Leach, PRVCA executive director, said.

The vehicle selected for this purpose is the 2024 Forest River Vengeance Rogue 29SUT. Chris Dougherty, a certified trainer with PRVCA, will utilize this RV to offer demonstrations on testing and repairing various RV systems and equipment. This approach allows for an immersive learning experience for technicians.

In collaboration with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), PRVCA is extending this training opportunity to its members. The program is structured to enable technicians to pursue certification levels, to achieve the status of a master-certified technician.

This vehicle will make its debut and be operational at America’s Largest RV Show®, scheduled to take place from September 11 to September 15 at the Giant CenterSM in Hershey.

“We’re excited to roll out this new RV to our members. RV techs in Pennsylvania and surrounding states will be able to progress in their careers through access to local training,” James Lubomski, education director said.

The RV is for educational purposes and serves as a promotional tool for the industry and America’s Largest RV Show®. It has a distinctive wrap with graphics highlighting its dual role in training and education as well as promoting the annual consumer show that the association hosts in Hershey, Pennsylvania every September.

PRVCA serves nearly 400 members, including RV dealers, manufacturers, campgrounds, and affiliated members for the growth of the camping industry within Pennsylvania. The association operates as a trade association across the state, collaborating with various industry sectors to offer legislative and regulatory support, educational programs, and promotional efforts.
