New RV Park and Campground Coming to Union Township

Union Township supervisors have approved a conditional use request by Ricki Trinidad, for a new RV park and campground named Royalty Camping.

As per a report, located in a 30-acre area of land just off Old Youngstown Road in the Central Commercial zoning district, Royalty Camping is set to provide a diverse range of accommodations.

Visitors can choose from luxury cabins with modern amenities and utilities, spaces for RVs, vans, teardrop campers, and tents. With the approval secured, Trinidad can now depend on the formal financial backing from banks and private donors.

The park’s facilities promise fun and relaxation for all ages, boasting volleyball, basketball, and pickleball courts, picnic tables and gazebos, a playground, bathhouses, a reception and recreation facility, and a lazy river pool. These amenities are expected to cater to various preferences and create an inclusive space for everyone.

The park’s establishment is expected to positively impact Union Township economically by creating jobs, attracting tourists, and supporting local businesses.

The approval of the park came with several conditions, such as specific entry and exit points, gating and fencing, seasonal operation times, and security measures. Trinidad agreed to these conditions, which were imposed to ensure the ongoing welfare of Union Township residents.

With its wet retention pond, the park aims to address stormwater runoff and maintain a sustainable water management system. Campers can also look forward to “smokeless” fire pits, eliminating smoke before it enters the air.

Trinidad mentioned that this is his company’s first RV park and that one of his properties in Florida filed for bankruptcy in the past due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. However, he remains optimistic about the future of Royalty Camping and plans to expand with new townhomes, single-family homes, and other commercial development in the 62 surrounding acres near the park.

Construction is expected to commence once all required permits are granted, with a timeline of eight to 12 months.

According to its website, Royal Camping will feature a year-round heated lazy river and pool, off-roading, hiking, biking, snowmobile rentals, high-quality full hookups, and a 1GBP wireless internet.
