OHI’s December Fly-In to Address Credit Card Fees Affecting Campgrounds, RV Parks

In a significant advocacy push, members of the outdoor hospitality industry are set to participate in a “Fly-In” event in Washington, D.C., on December 16-17. The gathering, organized by the OHI Government Affairs Team in collaboration with the Merchants Payments Coalition, will facilitate direct meetings between business owners and U.S. Senators to discuss the impact of credit card fees on small businesses.

“We will be participating in these meetings alongside other small businesses that are part of the Merchants Payments Coalition, our partners in advocating for the passage of the Credit Card Competition Act,” OHI said in a press release.

The OHI team is currently seeking one business owner or operator from each U.S. state who is willing to share their experiences and advocate on behalf of the industry. Interested participants are encouraged to apply, with the application process designed to identify individuals most affected by these costs.

The OHI Government Affairs Team emphasizes that the cost of participating in this Fly-In is minimal for selected applicants, making it accessible for small business owners passionate about addressing this issue. Selected participants will have their flights, hotel accommodations, and local transportation costs reimbursed, leaving only personal meal expenses to cover.

According to its website, OHI is dedicated to advancing the outdoor hospitality industry by offering a strong community, valuable resources, professional development opportunities, and essential legislative advocacy.
