OHI announced the results of its 2024 Board of Directors election. The newly elected individuals, representing various aspects of the outdoor hospitality sector, will be officially sworn in at the Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE) 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
According to OHI, the new board members include Rafael Correa, chief financial officer at Blue Water; Lisa Courtney, director of operations at Camp Jellystone; Mike Gurevich, campground owner at Cherry Hill Park; Jeff Hoffman, president of MHD Corp/Sandusky KOA Ohio; Ashley Migliaccio, assistant operations manager at Hidden Acres Family Campground; Sam Mueller, owner of Forest Haven RV Park; Cathy Reinard, owner of Gilboa KOA; and Glen Williamson, CEO of Two Creeks Campground. Their diverse backgrounds are expected to bring fresh perspectives to the organization’s leadership.
Paul Bambei, OHI’s president and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm over the election results, highlighting the organization’s progress in boosting voter engagement. “This election marks a significant achievement for OHI,” Bambei stated.
In the past, ARVC struggled with low voter engagement, compounded by uncontested elections and confusing geographic barriers. Historically, our turnout fell short of the average 3 percent for trade associations.”
He emphasized that this year’s election saw a notable increase, with voter participation reaching 7 percent, more than double the industry standard for such events.
The conference, scheduled from November 4-6 in Oklahoma City, is designed to foster networking, learning, and professional development within the outdoor hospitality community. With a planned lineup of events, OHCE 2024 promises a dynamic environment for newcomers and long-time industry professionals to connect and exchange ideas.
A highlight of OHCE 2024 will be the Campfire Sessions, previously known as “Cracker Barrels.” These sessions are structured to encourage open dialogue and problem-solving among attendees.
Divided into forums based on park sizes, Small Parks, Medium Parks, Large/Mega Parks, and Multi-Park Owners, these discussions address specific operational challenges and opportunities relevant to each group.
At the conference, broader discussions will take center stage, touching on critical topics such as park expansion, wastewater management, and the impact of amenities on business success.
The event will also feature the award-winning Expo Floor, a hub for showcasing the latest products and services available to outdoor hospitality businesses. Attendees can interact with exhibitors and explore the OHI booth.
