The 11th annual “I Love My Park” Day will take place on May 7 at state parks, historic sites, and public lands, a report said.
Registration for the volunteer initiative is underway, promoting enhancing and maintaining parks, historic sites, and public lands while raising awareness of state outdoor recreation assets and their needs.
Volunteers will have the chance to join cleanup events at around 150 state parks, historical sites, and public lands. It covers all regions, including sites managed by the Department of Conservation and municipal parks.
“In the last two years, New Yorkers have flocked to parks in record numbers for respite and recreation,” said Executive Director Robin Dropkin of Parks & Trails New York.
“I Love My Park Day offers these park users a way to give back to the places that have been there for them, and we anticipate thousands of New Yorkers will turn out to give back to the green spaces they love.”
The GLOW region locations include Letchworth and Stony Brook state parks and portions of the Genesee Valley Greenway Trail.
