In a move that underscores the vitality and dynamism of New Jersey’s camping industry, the New Jersey Campground Owners Association (NJCOA) is gearing up to host its much-anticipated annual Fall Tour and General Membership Meeting. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Skylands Region, the event is slated to run from September 12 to 14.
The Skylands Region, known for its scenic beauty, will serve as the perfect locale for this year’s gathering. The event promises to be a blend of learning and networking, with tours of six distinct campgrounds, offering attendees a glimpse into the diverse camping experiences available in the state.
One of the highlights of the event will be a visit to Meyers RV. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to explore the latest RV models, getting a firsthand look at the innovations and advancements in recreational vehicles. Moreover, the event will provide a platform for interaction with the dedicated staff at Meyers RV, fostering a deeper understanding of the RV industry’s nuances.
Tammy Horsfield from the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce and Art Charlton from the Warren County Tourism Office will share their insights, further enriching the knowledge pool available to attendees.
Joann DelVescio, NJCOA executive director, encapsulated the essence of the event, stating, “NJCOA Fall Tour allows campground owners and managers from around the state to see what other campgrounds are doing firsthand. Attendees always leave the tour with new ideas, solutions to campground issues, and new friends,”
The association will host a special dinner to honor Senator Steven Oroho. Recognized for his unwavering support of the campground industry, Senator Oroho’s impending retirement from the New Jersey Legislature marks the end of an era.
For newcomers to the campground industry, the Fall Tour represents a golden opportunity. They can tap into the wisdom of seasoned campground owners, gleaning insights and best practices. DelVescio highlighted the importance of such interactions, emphasizing the role of mentorship in shaping the future of the industry.
In a bid to celebrate excellence, NJCOA will also recognize outstanding contributions in the camping sector. Awards will be presented to campgrounds that have showcased exemplary marketing materials, hosted creative events, and delivered exceptional customer service.
The General Membership meeting, a cornerstone of the event, will chart the course for NJCOA’s future endeavors. It’s not just about reflection but also envisioning the road ahead. Associate Members, an integral part of the NJCOA community, are also invited, ensuring a holistic representation of the industry.
