New Jersey now offers a glamping experience that brings the African safari to the Garden State. Six Flags Great Adventure, a 510-acre amusement park in Ocean County, unveiled its latest attraction: the Savannah Sunset Resort & Spa.
This luxury glamping-style retreat, opened on June 14, provides visitors with a taste of the Serengeti without leaving the East Coast. The resort offers 20 suites, each accommodating two to six people, blending comfort with adventure.

The Savannah Sunset Resort & Spa is nestled within Six Flags Great Adventure’s existing 350-acre safari park, a long-standing feature of the amusement park.
The resort also features a variety of safari-inspired experiences. Guests can enjoy close-up animal encounters, daily giraffe feedings, and explore local watering holes, all within the park’s safe environment. These activities provide entertainment and educational opportunities, making the resort an ideal destination for families seeking both fun and learning.
Accommodations at the resort start at $599 per night during the summer season, with a minimum two-night stay required. Each reservation includes multi-park admission, private transportation, and daily breakfast.
“Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa guests receive a multi-park ticket per person, per night of their stay which grants admission into the parks but does not allow them to skip the lines. If they would like to bypass lines in our theme park, they can upgrade to Flash Pass. Our water park attractions cannot accommodate fast pass/skip the line,” Six Flags Great Adventure Resort said.
Edithann Velez Ramey, chief marketing officer at Six Flags, expressed enthusiasm about the new venture. “It’s one of our biggest, largest properties, so we knew we wanted to invest. And we’re thrilled it’s happening in New Jersey,” Ramey said.
With its blend of luxury accommodations and immersive wildlife experiences, Savannah Sunset Resort & Spa is poised to offer visitors a taste of African adventure.
In addition, Six Flags Entertainment Corp. is on the verge of merging with competitor Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. in a deal valued at $1.9 billion. This merger is expected to create one of the largest amusement park operators in North America.
