The Flathead County Board of Adjustment in Montana is set to review applications for a new RV park in Evergreen, according to a Daily Inter Lake report. The proposal plans to include an area for children and RV spaces.
Central to the board’s agenda is a conditional use permit for a proposed RV park situated along Montana 35 and East Cottonwood Drive, just east of Kalispell.
Access to the facility will be primarily through Montana 35, supplemented by an emergency route on East Cottonwood Drive. A traffic impact study estimates the park could generate around 1,400 daily trips. Despite its scale, the project does not foresee the construction of permanent buildings but will offer additional parking spaces for visitors.
The project, initiated by East Park, LLC, of Bigfork, aims to establish 226 RV spaces across a 29.32-acre tract currently dedicated to alfalfa and hay production. The site, nestled within a region blending residential and commercial uses, also plans to incorporate significant open space, including a designated area for children’s play.
This development emphasizes recreational amenities, with over three acres allocated to open space and natural features like a freshwater pond and wetlands.
The RV park will receive utility services from the Evergreen Water and Sewer District, indicating a collaboration with local infrastructure providers to support the anticipated demand.
In a 2023 report, the Flathead County Board reviewed the request of Mountain Traveler Ranch, seeking a conditional permit for event hosting on 10 acres of its property at 1220 Lower Valley Road for a recreational facility. However, the Planning Department reported seven public objections, highlighting concerns over potential traffic and accident increases, light pollution, and noise disturbances.
