Modern America Campgrounds, an RV park owner in the Northeast, announced its acquisition of Lone Oak Campsites in East Canaan, Connecticut. The acquisition, set to take effect on December 1, marks the company’s 27th park acquisition in the past 24 months.
The acquisition of Lone Oak Campsites is part of a broader expansion strategy, with Modern America Campgrounds expecting to increase its portfolio to 29 parks by the end of the year. Two additional acquisitions are already in the pipeline, showcasing the company’s commitment to “exceptional guest experiences.”
As part of its approach to outdoor hospitality, Modern America Campgrounds recently introduced new programs aimed at enhancing the camping experience. One initiative is the Freedom Trail Pass, allowing campers access to all Modern America Campgrounds with minimal restrictions during peak season. This pass provides flexibility and convenience, making it easier for campers to explore various destinations.
Modern America Campgrounds has also rolled out new programs aimed at improving the camping experience for both seasonal members and short-term visitors. Seasonal pass holders now have the opportunity to visit other Modern America Campgrounds at no additional cost, on a limited basis.
Hunter Vazza, a spokesperson for Modern America Campgrounds, expressed excitement about the acquisition and its broader implications for campers. “We are thrilled to welcome Lone Oak Campsites to the Modern America Campgrounds family,” Vazza said. “This acquisition aligns with our strategic growth plan and allows us to offer even more diverse camping options to our guests. We are committed to providing exceptional camping experiences.”
The company’s portfolio includes parks such as Bar Harbor Campground, offering an elevated ocean view, Eastern Slope Campground with Saco River frontage, and Camping on the Battenkill, featuring river access.
“There isn’t another park owner in the northeast that allows their seasonal member campers complimentary access to 27 parks. The value is there for our customers and it’s what separates us from other parks,” Vazza said in a press release.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, Modern America Campgrounds plans to introduce a Loyalty Rewards Program aimed at transient campers.
