KOA Named Among Franchise Business Review’s 2026 Most Profitable Franchises

Kampgrounds of America (KOA) has been named one of Franchise Business Review’s 2026 Most Profitable Franchises, placing the outdoor hospitality company among 50 franchise brands recognized for franchisee satisfaction, financial performance and long-term investment potential.

The recognition was based on independent research analyzing feedback from franchise owners across multiple industries.

Franchise Business Review evaluated data from more than 29,000 franchise owners representing 330 brands, including satisfaction levels, willingness to recommend their brands, franchise owner income and minimum startup capital requirements.

“We are honored to be recognized on Franchise Business Review’s Most Profitable Franchise list,” Toby O’Rourke, president and CEO of KOA, said in a press release. “This recognition reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of our franchisees and their deep commitment to creating safe, consistent, and welcoming places for guests to camp.

“For generations, campers have returned to KOA campgrounds because of the relationships our owners build, the quality of the experience they deliver, and the value they provide to every guest. Our franchisees are the foundation of KOA’s success, and we are proud to support them with the tools, resources, and partnership they need to grow thriving businesses and create lasting memories for camping families,” O’Rourke added.

Franchise Business Review’s rankings are based solely on franchisee satisfaction and performance data collected through independent surveys. The research firm publishes franchise rankings and industry reports throughout the year covering franchise sectors and performance metrics.

Michelle Rowan, president of Franchise Business Review, said the company’s rankings focus on factors franchise investors consider when evaluating opportunities.

“The questions that matter before buying a franchise come down to profitability, satisfaction, and long-term return,” Rowan said. “Few franchises succeed overnight. But owners who do their homework tend to come out ahead. That’s what sets our Most Profitable Franchises list apart: these brands deliver on income and rank highest in satisfaction according to the franchisees themselves.”

KOA said it has supported campground entrepreneurs for more than 60 years. The company’s network includes more than 500 campgrounds across North America, providing a range of camping experiences for millions of campers annually.
