Lake Ashtabula Campground Opening Delayed Due to Flooding

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District (Minnesota), will continue to postpone opening the campground facilities at Lake Ashtabula due to impacts from flooding until May 19.

According to a press release, campgrounds were set to open on May 1. However, the snow and flooding conditions hinder safe access to most camping facilities.

The affected campgrounds include East Ashtabula Crossing, West Ashtabula Crossing, Eggert’s Landing, and Mel Rieman Recreation Area.

For more information on Lake Ashtabula, contact the Lake Ashtabula recreation office at (701) 845-2970.

The Corps of Engineers is a federal provider of outdoor recreation. The St. Paul District operates 49 recreation areas, ranging from public boat landings along the Mississippi River to visitor centers to full-service campgrounds.
