Temporary Campground Set to Return to Negaunee for Ore to Shore Bike Race

A temporary campground is set to return to Jackson Mine Park in Michigan this summer for the participants of the Ore to Shore Bike Race.

The campground will be available for two nights, from August 12 to 14, giving participants a chance to stay close to the starting lines and reducing their race-day stress levels.

Marketing Coordinator for the Ore to Shore Bike Race, Nic Tuma, commented on the campground’s early planning, stating, “Last year we started fairly late, it was like July 25th when we opened up the sign-up for the campground, so it was fairly late, just a few weeks before the race, so this year we’re getting an early start which is exciting.

Last year, the campground received a positive response, with participants enjoying its convenient location and relaxing atmosphere.

The campground is expected to be located near the start of the 48-mile Hard Rock and 28-mile Soft Rock races.

This year, it will also provide access to businesses in downtown Negaunee, with Negaunee City Manager Nate Heffron commenting, “We are hoping that we also get a bit of overflow into some of our businesses, local bars, restaurants, shops, just partake in some of those commerce activities.”

The Ore to Shore Bike Race is a popular event, with around 2,500 participants signed up for the race last year.

Tuma anticipates even more participants this year, making the campground a hot commodity for participants looking for convenient and comfortable accommodation options.

Private campground owners and operators in the nearby area can expect to see increased traffic during the Ore to Shore Bike Race weekend, as participants will be looking for nearby accommodation options.

With the addition of the temporary campground, local businesses can also expect to see an increase in commerce activities.

Registration for the campground is expected to open in April and is only available to participants of the Ore to Shore races.

The campground provides a unique opportunity for participants to stay close to the action and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Negaunee while participating in the bike race.

Moreover the temporary campground’s return to Negaunee is a great addition to the Ore to Shore Bike Race.

The event is sure to draw in even more participants this year, making the campground and nearby accommodation options highly sought-after. Local businesses in the area can also expect to see an increase in traffic and commerce activities, making this event a win-win for everyone involved.
