Lightspeed Announces Collaboration with Forest River to Enhance Service Process

Lightspeed, a provider of cloud-based dealership management software, collaborated with Forest River to enhance operational efficiencies for RV dealerships. The collaboration was announced on April 9 in Salt Lake City, Utah, featuring a significant update to Lightspeed’s Dealer Management Solution (DMS). 

The update allows RV dealers to access Forest River unit bulletins and recalls directly within the service module of the DMS by entering a valid Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

“Over the past year, Lightspeed has been dedicated to enhancing services for the RV industry. Drawing from our forty years of experience working with top OEMs in the powersports sector, we’re extending similar advancements and integrations to RV dealers. This streamlined process will reduce duplicate tasks within service departments, ultimately improving dealership efficiency and customer service,” Jeremy Johnson, Lightspeed’s senior manager of OEM and business development, said in a press release.

The integration enables a new feature within the Repair Order process. When a dealership enters a VIN associated with an active bulletin or recall, the system automatically activates a Bulletin button. This button provides dealers with immediate access to detailed descriptions of the issues and direct links to necessary documents via Forest River Dealer Connect, thus simplifying the process of managing service requirements for RVs.

“We’re excited about this enhancement for Forest River dealers utilizing Lightspeed. By continuously integrating our systems, we aim to simplify the sales and service processes for Forest River units within the DMS system,” James Gingerich, analytics manager at Forest River Inc., said.

This feature is designed to eliminate the need for manual checks of bulletins and recalls, which traditionally consume considerable time and resources within dealership service departments. By automating this process, the new integration significantly streamlines operations, potentially reducing wait times for repairs and improving overall customer service.
