KOA Recognized for Impact of Monthly Research Report on Hospitality Industry

Kampgrounds of America’s (KOA) efforts to bring consistent data to the outdoor hospitality industry through its monthly research report have been recognized in the recent Travel Weekly 2022 Magellan Awards.

The company was hailed a gold winner in the annual award’s Hospitality Marketing category.

“Our marketing team is honored to receive this recognition from Travel Weekly among such an impressive group of leaders in various segments of the travel and tourism industry,” Whitney Scott, chief marketing officer of Kampgrounds of America, said in a press release.

“Data is at the heart of everything we do at KOA, as it helps us to better understand campers and deliver memorable, positive experiences to each guest,” she added.

KOA’s first report was created and launched in May last year to address the need for timely and relevant industry data that could measure the impact of COVID-19 and other external factors on camping and the outdoor hospitality industry.

“Our monthly research report has become a cornerstone of not only our marketing but greater business strategy and we’re grateful for the positive reception from the larger outdoor hospitality industry over the past year and a half.”

An annual program, Travel Weekly Magellan Awards receives entries from all over the world. Judges select winners within eight distinct categories based on outstanding design, marketing, or services. Winners are selected against a standard of excellence based on the experience of the top travel industry professionals who review the entries.
