The Farm RV Resort, a new recreational vehicle destination in London, Kentucky, opened earlier this month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the London-Laurel County Chamber of Commerce. The October 9 event celebrated the culmination of over two years of construction led by brothers Neil and Brian Deaton, who both own and played a key role in the resort’s development.
The Deaton brothers are no strangers to the RV industry, having previously owned Big Daddy RVs, a dealership that introduced them to the campground concept. Frequently asked if they would consider creating a campground, the idea took root. When they learned of a 22-acre property available in London, they seized the opportunity to bring their vision to life, aiming to establish a convenient stopover for travelers between Canada and the southern U.S.
According to an article published by Sentinel Echo, Neil explained their vision for the resort, emphasizing the site’s strategic location. “We wanted to be that destination spot that’s really close – that’s going to catch a lot of people running from north to south,” he said, referring to its potential as a midpoint for travelers. The Farm RV Resort is situated at 225 Mitchell Creek Road in London, designed with both location and amenities to attract a range of visitors.
To distinguish itself, the resort also offers various amenities. Visitors have access to four pickleball courts, basketball courts, a fishing pond, laundry facilities, and a snack shop. The pickleball courts, certified for tournaments, add a unique element to the resort, catering to sports enthusiasts and enhancing its appeal for both recreation and competitive events.
The on-site snack shop aims to add convenience for guests, offering treats like milkshakes, sundaes, and pizzas from the Crazy Italian brand. The shop saves campers the hassle of leaving the resort for meals, adding a level of ease to the overall guest experience. This service aligns with the Deatons’ vision of creating a fully accommodating environment for travelers and families.
Looking ahead, the resort plans to expand its attractions, with a pool featuring water slides scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend in 2025. The Farm’s team is also exploring the addition of a dog park, an amenity they hope to introduce before next summer. These enhancements are part of a broader strategy to increase appeal and provide a family-friendly environment.
Event hosting is another aspect the Deatons plan to incorporate. Starting in 2025, the resort will introduce events like Jeep shows, barbecue competitions, cook-offs, and car shows. Neil expressed excitement about these future events, emphasizing their potential impact on both the resort and the local area.
