In Addition to Tent & RV Sites, Idaho Campground Also Rents Out Retro Campers

Time to burn rubber and head to Lava Hot Springs in Idaho where a far-out glamping experience awaits. Just off of Highway 30, Lava Campground is a portal back in time with its vintage camper trailers.

Ten retro campers from the ‘50s and ‘60s are dotted across the eastern part of the property. Each comes with a retro flashlight, two water bottles, a picnic table, a fire pit, and two camp chairs. Two marshmallow roasters are provided per site, as well as a hydrant and extra electrical hookups.

Offering a blast from the past experience, the vintage campers called Lily, Daisy, Donna, Iris, and Sylvia are adorned with retro-modern and farmhouse themes, while Dottie, Emma, Mabel, Minnie, and Ruby feature a blend of mid-century and farmhouse designs.

The remodeled campers are furnished with a nightstand, a table and two chairs, and equipped with air conditioning, heat, and electrical outlets. Inside every camper is either a full, queen, or king-sized bed.

Even though the trailers do not come with their own kitchen and bathroom, showers and toilets are just a few cartwheels away from the sites.

While the vintage campers provide timeless accommodations, modern options are also available at Lava Campground

Take, for example, the glamping wall tent that guests can book if they want to level up their dry camping. The canvas tent with a woodchip floor sleeps up to four and is definitely an upgrade from a sleeping bag as it comes with a king-sized bed and two cots.

Another offering is a studio apartment attached to the owners’ house. This suite offers the luxury and comfort of modern amenities found in the kitchen, private bathroom, and laundry. It has a separate entrance and comes with a separate outdoor space with pergola.

RVers are also welcome to stay and book any back-in or pull-through site with electric and water, while tent campers can pitch on the wooded sites near Portneuf River.

On-site, young campers can find joy on the playground while adults can find serenity in the natural landscape all around the property.

Due to its proximity to Lava Hot Springs, campers can enjoy a range of activities such as tubing, driving an ATV, ziplining, going on wagon rides, go-karts, golf, disc golf, and going to a museum.

Lava Campground is a family-owned campground located at 11759 E Fish Creek Rd Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It was built from the ground up by owners Cameron and Annie Salt.
