Grand Canyon National Park has been ranked as the most visited U.S. national park, according to the travel app Visited.
The popular app, published by Arriving In High Heels Corporation, compiled a list of the top 25 most visited national parks based on data from international and domestic travelers.
Other parks making the top five include the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Yosemite National Park, Zion National Park, and Yellowstone National Park. These parks represent a mix of natural landmarks and historical sites across the United States, with many located on the West Coast.
While Grand Canyon National Park topped the list, the ranking also highlights the importance of Washington monuments, which are managed by the National Park Service (NPS).
These landmarks are also frequented by travelers and have become prominent destinations in the U.S.
“It is interesting that more people visit Yellowstone and Yosemite than the Everglades National Park. Since 67% of travelers have been to Florida as compared to under 60% for California or Wyoming,” Anna Kayfitz, CEO of Arriving In High Heels Corp, said in a press release.
The full list of U.S. national parks ranked by popularity can be found in the Visited app, which is available for free on both iOS and Android.
The app provides over 175 travel lists, ranging from national parks around the world to cruise ports and famous waterfalls. Users can explore and track their travel experiences through a personalized map of their destinations.
The Visited app also includes the option for users to print physical personalized travel posters featuring the destinations they’ve visited. Additionally, the app offers personalized travel statistics, allowing users to check off experiences by location and get inspired by travel photos.
The app’s travel lists cover a wide variety of destinations, including ski areas, golf destinations, and national parks. Users can choose from these categories to create a unique travel plan based on their preferences.
