Go RVing’s RV-2-50 campaign brought together 210 industry partners across 38 states to encourage Americans to explore the country by recreational vehicle, generating 97 media placements, 22 travel itineraries and contributions from 20 influencers.
The nationwide initiative involved RV dealerships, campgrounds, original equipment manufacturers, RV shows and social media influencers, which distributed Travel Passports, shared campaign content and encouraged travelers to plan their own RV trips.
The campaign also established 210 Travel Passport Hubs, giving participating businesses materials to distribute to customers and creating opportunities to engage travelers. Participating dealerships reported positive responses to the passports, with one describing them as a conversation starter for in-store visitors.
“The Passports were a cool way to share in the customer’s travel. It was a topic of conversation for in-store guests,” one RV dealership said, as reported by a News and Insights of RVIA.
Another dealership described the materials as “Well-produced material to distribute.”
The campaign also included a $5,000 grand prize for a participating traveler. Bradley S. of Florida won the prize after visiting the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks, as well as Antelope Canyon, in his grandfather’s RV.
Travelers also shared accounts of their journeys, documenting experiences across national parks, coastal destinations and campgrounds. Their stories included a cross-country trip by two lifelong friends celebrating 50 years of friendship, with stops in small towns and visits to historic landmarks, mountains, deserts and open plains.
Other submissions highlighted family travel, including a Wisconsin family’s first trip in a newly purchased Rockwood RV. The family visited Solberg Lake, where activities included biking, fishing, campfires and wildlife viewing.
A trip to Sedona, Arizona, also featured in the campaign’s collection of travel stories, with one traveler describing a night of stargazing using a telescope to observe the desert sky.
Another family of four, accompanied by its Golden Retriever, returned to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, revisiting the destinations where they first developed an interest in RVing. The trip also honored a family member who had helped make their earlier RV adventures possible.
The campaign’s media outreach generated 97 placements across national travel, outdoor, lifestyle and RV trade publications. Its 22 itineraries, developed by RVing experts, provided suggested routes for travelers exploring destinations across the country, while 20 influencers incorporated RV-2-50 messaging into their content.
