The Glamping Show Americas 2024 begins today at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado, marking the start of one of the biggest glamping industry events. The annual conference will run from October 1-2, with pre-shop workshops for aspiring glamping business owners held yesterday.
The event brings together glamping operators, industry experts, and entrepreneurs. Focusing on emerging trends, the Glamping Show Americas aims to provide participants with practical, success-driven insights for enhancing their glamping operations.
In an exclusive interview with Modern Campground, David Korse, principal at Glamping Show Americas, highlighted that this year’s event is set to surpass last year’s in scale, with more exhibitors and increased participation from countries worldwide.
“We’re very excited about what our community will experience when visiting us in Colorado. Each of our previous events has been larger than the last, and we’re trending in that direction again for 2024… We’re seeing the same positive trend on the exhibitor/sponsor side of things,” Korse told Modern Campground.
The conference offers a comprehensive experience for attendees, including two full days of expert-led sessions. Topics range from leveraging technology and securing funding to addressing legal hurdles and integrating glamping into existing campground businesses.
State of the Industry
One of the key highlights of the event is the “State of the Industry” report, presented by the Glamping Show Americas, in collaboration with Cairn Consulting Group. Scheduled at 8:30 a.m., this research-based presentation provides an in-depth analysis of current trends and data impacting the glamping industry.
The report covers critical areas such as business planning, marketing, and financial forecasting, helping operators understand the broader landscape of outdoor hospitality.
Strategies for Exceptional Food & Beverage in Glamping
Food and beverage offerings in glamping will also take center stage during a panel discussion titled “Taste the Difference,” scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The session explores how culinary experiences can enhance the overall guest experience at glamping sites.
“Whether you’re a seasoned operator or just starting out, this session promises valuable insights to elevate your F&B offerings and leave a lasting impression on your guests,” the Glamping Show Americas indicated on its website.
From Tents to Wagons: How Glamping Can Benefit Your Park
Another session, “From Tents to Wagons: How Glamping Can Benefit Your Park,” is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will feature experienced park owners discussing the benefits of incorporating glamping into traditional campgrounds and RV parks.
This session also provides insights into the operational and guest experience differences between traditional sites and those offering glamping accommodations. Panelists will discuss their challenges and successes in expanding their businesses to include a glamping component.
Engaging the Evolved Glamping Audience
In addition to operational topics, the conference will also delve into communication strategies with a session titled “Engaging the Evolved Glamping Audience,” scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This session addresses the needs and expectations of today’s glamping guests, emphasizing the importance of clear and effective communication at every stage of the guest journey.
The session will offer advice on segmenting communication efforts and ensuring that each interaction, whether pre-booking or post-stay, enhances the overall guest experience.
Day 1 of the 2024 conference will then conclude with a Taco Tuesday Welcome Reception hosted by the American Glamping Association (AGA), during which the association will hold a ceremony for this year’s AGA Glamping Award winners.
