Care Camps Foundation has launched its new rebranding initiative, coinciding with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The rebranding effort includes a logo that reflects the organization’s core mission: providing joy, hope, and healing to children with cancer and their families through medically supervised pediatric oncology camps. This follows the official name change announced earlier this year by the national non-profit foundation.
The new logo encapsulates various elements of Care Camps Foundation’s mission, such as outdoors, life, growth, caring, community, connection, joy, transformation, and healing. Gwynn Sullivan, the foundation’s executive director, emphasized the organization’s continued dedication to funding pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada.
“As we move forward with our new image, what remains the same is our steadfast commitment to fund pediatric oncology camps across the U.S. and Canada,” Gwynn Sullivan, Care Camps Foundation executive director, said.
“And we continue to promise to be the best stewards of the generous donations we receive from campgrounds, companies, foundations, and individuals so ultimately more children and families navigating a cancer journey will benefit from the programs these special camps provide,” Sullivan added.
In addition to celebrating its rebranding, Care Camps Foundation is commemorating its 40th anniversary. The foundation’s roots trace back to 1984 when a group of Kampgrounds of America (KOA) owners initiated fundraising efforts to support camps for children with cancer. Over the years, KOA and other campgrounds, businesses, and individuals have significantly contributed to the foundation’s growth.
Last year alone, Care Camps Foundation provided $2 million in funding to 122 camps, benefiting 41,880 children, their siblings, and their families. These specialized camps, offered at no cost to participants, aim to alleviate the burdens faced by families navigating cancer.
According to a press release, Care Camps Foundation continues its mission to provide the “healing power of nature and community to children living with cancer.”
