Campground Views reported a significant surge in engagement for its Campground Virtual Tours in January, signaling increased interest from campers planning their upcoming trips.
The platform saw an 80% month-over-month rise in viewership, with campers spending more time exploring parks before booking. Average view time per tour increased by 17% following improvements to the user interface.
In total, the platform recorded 387,970 views during the month, with an average of 1 minute and 10 seconds spent per tour.
Additionally, there were 22,474 booking actions taken across 3,350 virtual tours.
“As we move through the winter months, campers are looking ahead and planning their trips. Being able to see a park before booking is a game-changer,” said Mark Koep, CEO of Campground Views.
“Campers demand this tool, and the numbers prove it. Smart campground owners are already making this happen, giving their guests the confidence to book,” he added.
The Campground Virtual Tours provide a dynamic, video-based experience, offering prospective guests the opportunity to explore campgrounds in detail.
Unlike static photos or basic maps, these tours allow users to virtually walk through parks, view available sites, and familiarize themselves with amenities and layouts.
The growing demand for these tours highlights the increasing importance of visual tools for campers when making decisions. As the camping season approaches, campground owners are leveraging these tours to boost customer confidence and improve booking rates.
Campground Views continues to expand its offerings, with over 16,000 campgrounds and more than 2,500 immersive virtual tours available.
In addition to increasing engagement, the platform’s virtual tours help campground owners streamline their marketing efforts.
