Wildhaven Sonoma, a glamping destination along the Russian River, expanded its offerings to Yosemite National Park.
Yosemite National Park statistics underscore the need for additional accommodations in the area. With millions of visitors each year and limited camping options, Wildhaven Yosemite is poised to meet a growing demand for outdoor experiences.
Wildhaven Sonoma, which opened in the summer of 2020 amid the pandemic, became a go-to destination for travelers seeking affordable, close-to-home vacation options. The Healdsburg-based “glampground” offers easy access to the Russian River and the region’s wineries, tasting rooms, and restaurants.
Ken Barber, co-owner of Wildhaven Sonoma, explained that the company started to make it easier for people to spend more time in nature and disconnect from their typically stressful lives.
“The valley and surrounding areas have a severe shortage of campsites. Campgrounds book up six months in advance, and there are still very few glamping options, preventing many people from being able to visit. It was a perfect location for glamping,” Barber added, as reported by Sonoma Magazine.
The new Wildhaven Yosemite property, spanning 36 acres, welcomed its first guests this spring. Located just a mile from the gateway town of Mariposa, it offers 30 platform tents and 12 cabins. The tents are similar to those at the Healdsburg location, but some are built into a forested hillside, providing enhanced views and a treehouse-like atmosphere.
The cabins at Wildhaven Yosemite have received upgrades based on feedback from Healdsburg guests. These tiny home accommodations feature electricity, heat, air conditioning, well-equipped kitchenettes, bathrooms, and picture windows framing panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Each cabin also boasts an outdoor sitting area complete with a fire pit, picnic table, and hammock.
Wildhaven’s expansion is part of a broader trend in the glamping industry. Arizton’s market analysis forecasts that the U.S. glamping market will reach $1.30 billion by 2029, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 15.14% from 2023 to 2029.
Wildhaven Yosemite’s location is located less than an hour’s drive from the Arch Rock Entrance to Yosemite National Park. For those interested in experiencing Wildhaven’s blend of nature and comfort, glamping tent rates start at $99, while cabin rates start at $199.
