Brown & Brown, an insurance brokerage firm, has been recognized as one of the 2024 Best Workplaces for Millennials by Great Place To Work and Fortune Magazine.
J. Powell Brown, president and chief executive officer of Brown & Brown, expressed his pride in the recognition. “Our team is what makes our company special—they are our most valuable and important resource, and we’re very proud to receive this recognition based on feedback directly from teammates,” Brown said.
The selection process for the Fortune Best Workplaces for Millennials List is rigorous. Great Place To Work collected nearly 510,000 responses from millennials at eligible companies. To be considered, companies needed to be Great Place To Work Certified and have at least 50 millennial employees in the United States.
According to a press release, the survey responses provided a comprehensive view of the workplace experience, with honorees selected based on their ability to offer positive outcomes for millennial employees across various demographics and job roles.
Julie Turpin, chief people officer at Brown & Brown, highlighted the company’s appreciation for diversity, emphasizing the value they place on the diverse perspectives their teammates bring from various backgrounds, experiences, and career stages.
Brown & Brown further demonstrates its commitment to employee well-being through additional recognitions. The company was awarded the 2023-2024 Platinum Level Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA) for the second consecutive year. Additionally, the company has been Certified by Great Place to Work for the fifth consecutive year as of October 2023.
Michael Bush, chief executive officer of Great Place To Work, emphasized the importance of millennials in the workplace.“These workers demand what every great workplace should provide: credible leadership, meaningful work, and a respectful, fair place to do their jobs,” Bush added.
In addition, Matt Heimer, executive editor for features at Fortune, congratulated the finalists of the Best Workplaces for millennials, noting that the expectations of this age cohort set a “high bar” for employers.
“Millennials place an unusually high priority on purpose-driven work and an equitable workplace. These companies are in step with these expectations, and they’re setting themselves up for continued success by committing to workplaces and environments that attract this pivotal generation of business talent,” Heimer explained.
