Brent Diver, co-founder and chief revenue officer of Ranger Distribution Inc., emphasizes the importance of a positive company culture in driving the company’s success. His leadership has been instrumental in navigating the company’s growth and challenges, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Originally from Elkhart, IN, Diver has a rich history in the RV industry, especially in the electrical components sector. After studying at Ball State University, he began his career in 1991 with Babsco, an electrical distributor. His journey included roles at Shelter Components and Patrick Distribution, where he honed his skills in sourcing and product management.
In 2019, Diver co-founded Ranger Distribution Inc. with partners John Curran, Rod Humphreys, and Larry Dorfman. The company was launched just six months before the pandemic struck, posing significant challenges initially, as per the News & Insights report of the RV Industry Association (RVIA).
“For the first six weeks of the pandemic, we were wondering if we had made a big mistake,” Brent recalls. However, as the RV industry rebounded, Ranger Distribution seized the opportunity to fill critical gaps in the market.
One notable success was reintroducing an old circuit breaker to the market. “Within four weeks, we were supplying about 60-70% of the RV industry with circuit breakers,” Brent explained. This achievement helped establish Ranger Distribution’s reputation and laid the foundation for its growth.
A cornerstone of Ranger Distribution’s success is its positive company culture, built on core values: fairness, friendliness, focus, engagement, and accountability.
“We actively promote our core values and ensure our quarterly reviews reflect these principles,” said Brent. This approach fosters a supportive and motivated work environment, crucial for the company’s rapid growth.
In addition to its internal culture, Ranger Distribution emphasizes community engagement through its annual Giving Without Expectation series. Launched in 2022, the event features inspiring speakers and is designed to provide attendees with valuable takeaways without any commercial pitches.
“We want to give our attendees something positive to take with them,” Brent noted. This year’s speaker, author Dave Anderson, also known as Mr. Accountability, is expected to draw an even larger crowd.
Brent’s dedication extends beyond his company to his involvement with the RVIA. Over the past 13 years, he has served on various technical subcommittees, including as Chair of the Electrical Subcommittee. His participation in RVIA events, such as RVs Move America Week and Advocacy Day, underscores his commitment to advancing the industry.
Outside of work, Brent is passionate about outdoor activities. He enjoys mountain biking, golf, camping, and hiking. His love for the outdoors is reflected in his personal travel experiences, including a memorable visit to the Grand Canyon.
“My wife and I spent a tremendous amount of time traveling in our RV when our kids were young,” Brent shared.
Brent Diver’s leadership at Ranger Distribution Inc. exemplifies the impact of a positive company culture on business success. By prioritizing core values and community engagement, Diver has not only navigated the company through challenging times but also positioned it for sustained growth and innovation in the RV industry.
“The RV Industry Association has been an incredibly positive part of my life, and I’m very happy that I got involved all those years ago,” Brent said.
Through his commitment to fostering a supportive work environment and his active involvement in the RV industry, Brent Diver continues to drive Ranger Distribution Inc. toward a bright and successful future.
