24 RV Technicians Achieve Level 3 Certification at Electrical Specialty Workshop

In a significant development for the recreational vehicle (RV) repair industry, 24 technicians have recently achieved Level 3 Certification following a comprehensive electrical specialty workshop hosted by the RV Technical Institute (RVTI).

This event marks a pivotal step in enhancing the skill set of RV technicians, addressing the growing demand for specialized training in the sector.

The workshop, which took place last week, was designed to cover all essential training topics necessary for the attendees to complete their Level 3 Electrical Specialty.

The curriculum included in-depth sessions on inverters, transfer switches, energy management systems, surge protection, and generators, facilitated by experts from the RV Technical Institute along with suppliers Furrion and Xantrex.

Given the critical need for advanced technical skills in the RV industry, the workshop’s slots were filled within three days of registration opening, highlighting the high demand among technicians for such specialized training.

The RVTI, in collaboration with Furrion and Xantrex, provided a hands-on learning experience, focusing on the practical application of theoretical knowledge, as per the News & Insights report of the RV Industry Association (RVIA).

Upon completion of the workshop, all 24 attendees were awarded Level 3 Certification and patches, signifying their enhanced capabilities and readiness to tackle more complex electrical issues in RVs.

Curt Hemmeler, executive director of the RVTI, expressed his satisfaction with the workshop’s outcome, emphasizing the importance of continuing education for technicians in this rapidly evolving field.

This workshop is the first in a series of five Level 3 workshops planned for 2024 by the Institute, each targeting different specialty areas crucial for RV technicians. The series aims to equip technicians with the knowledge and skills required to perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on various RV systems and components.

Technicians who complete all five workshops will earn their Level 4 Master Certification, representing a comprehensive understanding of RV repair and maintenance. This certification path is designed to meet the industry’s need for highly skilled technicians capable of addressing the complex challenges presented by modern RVs.

The RV Technical Institute’s initiative to offer these specialized workshops underscores the industry’s commitment to professional development and quality service. As RV ownership continues to grow, the demand for qualified technicians who can provide expert repair and maintenance services is more critical than ever.

For those interested in pursuing a career in RV repair or enhancing their current skill set, the RV Technical Institute offers a range of training programs and certifications. These educational opportunities are crucial for maintaining the high standards of safety, reliability, and performance that RV owners expect.

As the RV industry continues to expand, the role of skilled technicians in ensuring the longevity and enjoyment of these vehicles cannot be overstated. The RV Technical Institute’s efforts to provide top-tier training and certification are essential in meeting the evolving needs of RV owners and the industry at large.
