Families that stay at the Rustic Acres Jellystone Park next weekend (April 2) will kick off the 2022 camping season with one of the most unique activities in camping: Waking up Yogi Bear!
“This is the time parents and kids walk through the campground to the bear’s den, banging pots and pans, laughing, and making as much noise as they can, to wake up Yogi Bear, who has been sleeping all winter. It’s a hilarious and memorable way to start the season,” said Jennifer Davis, who co-owns and operates the park with her husband, BJ.
“We can’t wait to get the 2022 season underway,” Davis said, adding that the park is also offering several gas-saving promotions.
Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, the Rustic Acres Jellystone Park will offer organized activities with Yogi Bear. Weekend activities include crafts and ceramics, laser tag, gaga ball, candy bar bingo, glitter tattoos, and sand art as well as “Hey Rides” wagon rides and dance and foam parties.
April’s weekend themes start with a “Welcome Back Superhero Weekend” in which guests can see who has the greatest superhero powers. Other weekend themes include an “Animal Safari Weekend,” complete with an animal hunt, as well as an “Easter Eggstravaganza Weekend” with an Easter egg hunt and special Easter games and prizes. The last two weekends of April feature a “Spy Detective Weekend” in which guests will try to crack the code to find the secret message and a “Discovering Dinosaurs Weekend” with a special dinosaur dig.
The Rustic Acres Jellystone Park complements its organized activities with attractions that include a 30 by 50 foot swimming pool, a jumping pillow, laser tag, two playgrounds, a mining sluice, and two large catch-and-release fishing lakes with bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. The park also has a basketball court and a volleyball net. Four rental cabins are available in addition to the park’s many RV and tent sites.
The Davises purchased the 160-site campground in 2017. Since then they have made many improvements to the park. These improvements include redesigning the campsites to accommodate larger vehicles and investing in new attractions.
