Back in March 2019 at the RVX conference, Campground Views showed off a next-generation Campground Virtual Tour solution as part of the KOA Campground of the Future display. The technology promised to allow potential campers the ability to tour a property in VR, see the sites, and click to book an available one.
A little over 3 years later, this week at the KOA Conference, Campground Views will be showing off this same technology… only it is now real and actively in use by KOA properties.
“Our amazing team followed through on this vision and made it a reality,” said Mark Koep, CEO of Campground Views. The Campground Virtual Tour technology is designed to emulate the experience campers seek when they visit a campground for the first time.
The camper is able to hit play and watch a video tour of the campground roads and pathways leading to and around the camping area. The viewer can interact with the experience by directing the view to look left, right, up, or down.
As campsites, cabins, or amenities come into the field of view the viewer can click on them for more information, a closer look or to start the booking process.
“The data coming in from properties using this tech is an incredible testament to the power of this tool to bring guests into properties,” stated Mr. Koep. “Properties are experiencing measurable increases in online bookings combined with significant decreases in inbound phone calls and improved customer service ratings.”
Campground Views will be showing off the technology and examples of real-world KOA properties that are using this technology at the KOA Conference in Orlando.
