Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park Named Caravan and Camping Park of the Year at Devon Tourism Awards

Employees and family proprietors at Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park in mid-Devon were recognised during this winter’s Devon Tourism Awards ceremony, where the park was named Caravan and Camping Park of the Year. The awards presentation took place in Exeter and brought together tourism businesses and industry representatives from across the county.

Yeatheridge Farm Caravan Park received the gold award in its category, with judges citing its overall standards, approach to hospitality, and focus on sustainable tourism practices.

The Devon Tourism Awards are held annually and form part of a wider regional and national tourism awards framework that aims to recognise operational quality and visitor experience across accommodation and attractions.

The five-star park, graded by Visit Devon, is located near the village of Witheridge, on the edge of Dartmoor. It has been operating for more than 50 years and is set within approximately 200 acres of farmland that remains an active sheep and beef farm.

The business is owned and operated by the Hosegood family and is currently managed by third-generation proprietors James and Colette Hosegood.

The park offers a mix of accommodation options, including touring pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents, along with holiday caravans available for hire or private ownership.

On-site facilities include an indoor swimming pool with a waterslide, two fishing lakes, food and beverage outlets, and a retail shop selling everyday essentials and locally sourced products, including meat produced on the farm. Additional amenities include children’s play areas, soft play facilities, and dog-friendly provisions.

According to Out&AboutLive, James Hosegood said the park continues to attract visitors seeking a quiet rural setting and access to the surrounding countryside.

He commented, “There is an amazing range of woodland and country trails around the park, and the chance to spot some of the abundant wildlife which the area sustains. We endeavour to make our park a match for these glorious surroundings, and it’s wonderful to have our efforts recognised at the Devon Tourism Awards.”

He also acknowledged the role of staff in delivering the guest experience, stating, “We’re delighted, too, that judges highlighted the levels of hospitality and the warmth of welcome which visitors enjoy when they stay at Yeatheridge Farm. Delivering this is very much in the hands of our fantastic park team, so they also deserve a large share of the credit for helping us achieve this award.”

For operators in the caravan, camping and glamping sectors, the award highlights how long-term family ownership, diversification of accommodation types, and investment in facilities can support both commercial resilience and external recognition.
