Pioneering UK glamping brand Wigwam Holidays announced a partnership with eviivo, a property management system provider, to elevate its digital infrastructure across over 80 sites in the UK.
The collaboration aims to reimagine these glamping destinations as “outdoor hotels” through the introduction of eviivo’s suite and mobile app. This partnership promises to enhance site operations, streamline guest communications, and simplify booking and payment processes.
According to a press release, the digital transition marks a significant step for Wigwam Holidays, which has set a goal of surpassing 70% occupancy at all sites by leveraging eviivo’s platform. eviivo’s integrations with major online travel agencies (OTAs) such as Airbnb and Booking.com will enable Wigwam franchisees to expand their market reach with reduced effort, facilitating greater exposure across booking channels.
An early trial of eviivo’s platform at a Wigwam site showed impressive results, with a reported 300% increase in bookings within weeks of adoption. Between July and mid-August, this location’s revenue grew from £15,000 to £45,000, an increase from the same period the previous year.
Known for its unique timber “Wigwam Pods,” Wigwam Holidays collaborates with UK farmers, who constitute 80% of its franchisees. These farmers transform underused land into profitable glamping locations, creating a sustainable revenue stream while introducing guests to scenic rural landscapes.
Established in the late 1990s by CEO Charles Gulland, Wigwam Holidays initially specialized in constructing wooden cabins along footpaths. As the demand for alternative camping accommodations grew, the company transitioned to designing and supplying heated timber pods that cater to visitors seeking a comfortable camping experience.
Today, Wigwam Pods are found in some of the UK’s most picturesque spots, from the mountains of Scotland to the forests of England, bringing visitors closer to nature.
The introduction of eviivo Suite and its mobile app is expected to streamline revenue generation for farmers and landowners involved in the franchise. According to the press release, with an intuitive design, the platform enables even tech-novice users to handle bookings, payments, and customer interactions efficiently.
Morgan Gulland, Wigwam Holidays’ general manager, expressed optimism about eviivo’s role in driving the company’s transformation, viewing the technology as a means to create “outdoor hotels.” The new system will enable better pricing and booking management, helping the company move closer to its occupancy target.
Ruth Whitehead, eviivo’s COO, also remarked on the successful collaboration with Wigwam, highlighting the franchise’s commitment to quality throughout the project.
“Working with Wigwam has been an inspiring experience. Wigwam’s commitment to quality has transpired throughout the project, so our teams were eager to meet expectations,” Whitehead shared.
Michele Fitzpatrick, eviivo’s CEO, expressed pride in eviivo’s contribution to Wigwam’s digital transformation, emphasizing the system’s user-friendliness and potential to streamline operations.
“Our platform allows anyone, regardless of tech experience, to effortlessly manage bookings, payments, and guest communications,” Fitzpatrick noted.
