Longnor Wood Holiday Park, an adults-only campsite, offers luxurious glamping pods with modern amenities and dog-friendly policies for outdoor enthusiasts. The park was named the best adult-only site in the United Kingdom at the Campsites.co.uk 2023 Camping and Glamping Awards.
Situated in Peak District, Longnor Wood Holiday Park is known for its accommodations and amenities. The site offers en suite glamping pods, luxury lodges, and caravan holiday homes. Other offerings include all-weather pitches for tents and tourers.
The park is open for 11 months of the year and closes only in January. It is designed to offer a tranquil retreat for adults. Its dog-friendly policy, with EV chargers and high-speed Wi-Fi, adds to the convenience and appeal for modern campers.
According to an article published by StokeonTrentLive on June 1, the campsite is managed by Sam Kitchen, and her family. Kitchen expressed delight at winning the award. She highlighted that the site aims to create a destination where people can relax, adding that guests return each year because of its location.
“Our focus is on providing the best possible experience for our guests through improving our already excellent facilities, offering a quality personal service, and going above and beyond for our guests,” Kitchen explained.
According to its website, the glamping pods at the Peak District campsite at Longnor Wood in Derbyshire are designed exclusively for adults, with a maximum of two adults per pod. Each pod features a double bed with a complimentary duvet and cotton linen, an ensuite shower room with towels provided, and a small kitchenette equipped with a camping kettle, fridge-freezer, two-ring electric hob, and microwave.
Additional amenities include a TV, under-floor heating, private furnished outdoor decking, free Wi-Fi, and inclusive gas and electricity. The pods are dog-friendly for an additional fee, and all accommodations are non-smoking, with free parking available a short walk from the pods.
In addition to its amenities, the glamping site is located near popular attractions. Longnor Wood is conveniently situated between the thermal spa town of Buxton and Bakewell, the largest town in the Peak District National Park. The campsite is also in a rural location, a short drive or two-mile walk from the small village of Longnor, which offers a pub, shop, and fish and chip shop.
The success of Longnor Wood Holiday Park underscores the importance of enhancing and diversifying amenities, including dog-friendly policies, to cater to the preferences of a wider target audience. By offering a range of high-quality accommodations and amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, EV chargers, and luxury features like hot tubs, parks can attract more guests and encourage repeated visits. This comprehensive approach increases guest satisfaction, helps build a loyal customer base, and achieves industry recognition.
