An emerging caravan and camping site is opening along Northumberland Coast, giving more opportunities for travelers to explore the beautiful tourist destinations around the area.
The new campsite, run by the Northumberland County Council, will have 20 caravan pitches, each with electric and water utilities, and eight tent pitches with electricity along Druridge Bay. The bay is one of the first beaches along the southern end of the Northumberland Coast, giving access to popular spots for dog walkers and horse riders.
However, before it opens, it will operate at a limited capacity of 12 campervan and caravan pitches and seven tent pitches available. Toilets and showers are in the visitor center and café building, which opened for indoor dining for the first time in more than two years last weekend.
Facilities will include a shower, toilet, washrooms, kitchen area for washing dishes, and a waste-water disposal point.
For activities, the new camping site will have miles of countryside walk and trails and water sports on the lake once a permit has been issued.
Caravaners in Northumberland will have more options, unlike last year, since a year-long trial to allow recreational vehicles to park along popular coastal destinations went live earlier this month.
Caravan parks involved in the trial are Beadnell’s Benthall Car Park, Amble Braid Car Park, and the car park opposite Bamburgh Castle, which costs £12 for overnight motorhome stays.
