New Eatery Boosts Fun at Dovestone Park’s Fancy Camping Spot

A luxury glamping site in the Peak District is set to expand with the addition of a new restaurant and café. Hollowoaks Limited, the company behind Dovestone Holiday Park in Saddleworth, plans to transform Greenfield Farm into a destination for dining, shopping, and leisure according to an article by Business Live.

Situated on land adjacent to the holiday park off Chew Valley Road, the two-story house—featuring a traditional slate roof—will be converted into a multifunctional space on the ground floor, complete with a dining area, games room, kitchen, storage, and restroom facilities. The second floor will be converted into a two-bedroom apartment designed for the park’s managers, with an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, an office, bathroom, and dedicated parking.

Oldham Council has approved the planning application, enabling the former farmhouse to become a mixed-use site. The new restaurant and leisure space will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering scenic views of the nearby mountains and Dovestone Reservoir. Although the facility sits near popular areas like Uppermill, Greenfield, and the Trinnacle hiking trails, access may be limited to park guests.

The project aims to address “customer feedback” by providing “much-needed amenities” and creating new job opportunities in the area, according to Hollowoaks. Matthew Taylor, the planning officer who approved the proposal, noted that the development “would bring into use a vacant building” and generate “economic and environmental benefits” by maintaining the structure and enhancing the area’s character and appeal.

By incorporating dining and leisure facilities alongside its luxury accommodations, Dovestone Holiday Park is positioning itself to meet the evolving expectations of travelers who seek high-end amenities in conjunction with immersive natural experiences. This development reflects the industry’s shift towards creating more inclusive and self-contained holiday destinations that cater to a wide range of preferences and needs.
