Hafan y Môr Holiday Park Retains AA 5-Star Platinum Award for Third Consecutive Year

Hafan y Môr Holiday Park near Pwllheli, North Wales, has retained the AA 5-Star Platinum Award for the third consecutive year, recognizing the property’s continued performance in quality, accommodation, and guest experience.

The holiday park, operated by Haven, received the distinction following an assessment by AA inspectors, who described Hafan y Môr as “a well-run and managed holiday centre” and noted a series of recent improvements made across the property. Among the developments highlighted during the assessment were the addition of 78 new holiday homes with direct beach access and the rollout of Wi-Fi connectivity in holiday homes.

The AA 5-Star Platinum Award is presented to holiday parks and destinations that meet the organization’s highest standards for facilities, accommodations, service, and overall visitor experience. Retaining the designation for three consecutive years reflects sustained operational performance rather than a single-year achievement.

Located on the Llŷn Peninsula near Pwllheli in Gwynedd, Hafan y Môr is one of Haven’s largest holiday parks and offers a mix of holiday accommodations, family entertainment, recreational activities, and owner holiday homes, according to Cambrian News. The recognition comes during the summer tourism season, a key period for holiday park operators across the United Kingdom as parks accommodate increased visitor demand.

The latest investments at the park form part of Haven’s ongoing efforts to modernize its accommodation offering and guest amenities. Improvements such as upgraded connectivity and expanded premium accommodations reflect broader trends across the outdoor hospitality sector, where operators continue to invest in infrastructure that supports changing guest expectations.

Reliable internet access, higher-quality accommodations, and enhanced on-site amenities have become increasingly important considerations for travelers when selecting holiday destinations.

For holiday park owners and operators, the recognition also illustrates how third-party quality assessments can support brand positioning and reinforce customer confidence. Independent accreditation programs often provide businesses with an external benchmark for operational standards while helping prospective guests compare accommodation options.

At the same time, continued investment in facilities may help operators maintain competitiveness in markets where travelers increasingly expect modern amenities alongside traditional outdoor recreation experiences.

Simon Palethorpe, CEO, Haven said:

“We’re delighted to have retained the AA 5-Star Platinum Award for a third consecutive year. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our team, who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests and holiday homeowners. Our recent investment continues to ensure we are providing our guests with the best offering, from improved facilities to new holiday homes”.

Denise Bossons, general manager at Hafan y Môr Holiday Park said: “Our team takes such pride in delivering the high standard our guests and homeowners have come to expect at Hafan y Môr. We’re incredibly honoured to have received the AA 5-Star Platinum Award for the third year in a row and look forward to welcoming more guests for another busy summer.”

The recognition follows continued investment at the Gwynedd holiday park ahead of the peak summer travel season and highlights the role that facility upgrades, digital infrastructure, and consistent operational standards can play in supporting guest satisfaction and long-term business performance in the outdoor hospitality sector.
