Ferryboat Farm Fisheries in Old Denaby, Doncaster, has received approval from Doncaster Council’s licensing sub-committee to sell alcohol, aiming to enhance the visitor experience at the site.
The newly licensed bar will operate daily from 11:00 a.m, with closing times set at 10:00 p.m on weekdays and Sundays, and extended to 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Alcohol consumption is restricted to on-site premises, prohibiting takeaway sales, although campers are still permitted to bring their own drinks to their accommodations.
According to an article published by BBC, during the licensing process, five local residents expressed opposition, citing concerns about potential noise disturbances and anti-social behavior. However, the subcommittee’s decision was influenced by the absence of complaints during previous temporary bar operations at the site.
Ferryboat Farm Fishery and Campsite offers a variety of activities and amenities, including two fishing lakes, a bouncy castle for children, on-site camping options, and a bar for guests. It’s also an ideal spot for leisurely walks and dog outings, with a picturesque river stretch and a nearby canal.
Environmental responsibility is a priority at the site. All waste must be taken off-site to ensure the area remains clean and well-maintained. Additionally, the use of campfires or disposable BBQs is prohibited to minimize environmental impact and reduce fire risks.
