Hipcamp has announced the winners of its 2026 Australia Awards, recognizing campsites and outdoor accommodations that received strong ratings and reviews from the platform’s community over the past year.
The annual awards cover properties across Australia, including creekside caravan sites, working farms, waterfall camps, vineyards, off-grid cabins, and glamping accommodations. According to TravelWeekly, the winners were selected using a year of booking, rating, and review data from its network of more than eight million users across more than 60,000 Australian campsites. The award lists are unranked.
The 2026 awards come as Australian outdoor hospitality businesses enter the camping season, providing operators with an indication of the types of properties and experiences receiving recognition from campers on the platform.
“These awards are really about celebrating the Hosts who make great camping possible,” said Hipcamp CEO and founder Alyssa Ravasio.
“There’s so much care behind the places people discover on Hipcamp, and our annual Awards give us a chance to recognise the Hosts who go the extra mile. Camping season is just getting started, so hopefully this year’s winners spark a few ideas, help campers find somewhere new, and get more people outside.”
Among the properties recognized this year is Willowbank in New South Wales, a multigenerational cattle property with private camping areas along the Karuah River. In Queensland, Hidden Pocket on the Mary offers riverside camping and complimentary kayaks, while Victoria’s Galea Ranch provides camping on a family-run property beneath the Cathedral Ranges.
Tasmania’s Ladybug Camping was also named among the winners, with creekside sites and access to cascading waterfalls. In Western Australia, Jarvis Estate Winery offers camping among vineyards near Margaret River.
The 2026 Australia Hipcamp Awards include several geographic and accommodation-specific categories. The state and territory awards recognize 12 winners each in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia, and the Northern Territory.
Other categories include Best Tent Camping in Australia, Best Caravan Sites in Australia, Best Glamping and Cabins in Australia, Best Farm Stays in Australia, Best Hipcamp Newcomers, and Best Legacy Hipcamps, with 15 winners selected in each category.
For campground and outdoor hospitality operators, the awards provide a potential benchmark for understanding how guest feedback, booking activity, and property characteristics translate into recognition on a major camping marketplace.
The range of winners also highlights the diversity of accommodation models operating within Australia’s outdoor hospitality sector, from traditional camping and caravan stays to farm-based experiences, cabins, and glamping.
The inclusion of both newcomers and legacy Hipcamps is also relevant for operators at different stages of development. While established properties can receive recognition for sustained guest experiences, newer listings have an opportunity to gain visibility through customer feedback and platform activity.
All winning properties are bookable directly through the Hipcamp app, allowing the awards to also function as a discovery channel for campers planning trips during the 2026 camping season.
